PNG to Banner Sizes: Quick Social and Web Banners
Most banner workflows start with one clean PNG and end with a mess of manual resizes. The easy way is to generate the common sizes in one pass so you can ship assets without second-guessing dimensions.
Use the PNG to Banner tool and export the sizes you actually need.
Quick steps
- Drop your PNG into the tool.
- Pick a preset (YouTube, Twitter/X, Reddit, Facebook) or enter custom dimensions.
- Choose fit or fill, set background color if needed, and download the banner.
Common platform sizes
| Platform | Typical size | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube | 2560 × 1440 | Safe area for text/logos is center-heavy |
| Twitter / X | 1500 × 500 | Wide header; keep logo away from edges |
| 1920 × 384 | Very wide; center important content | |
| 820 × 312 | Cover photo; crops on mobile |
Use fit when the full logo must stay visible. Use fill when the banner should cover the frame and cropping is acceptable.
Example flow
Input: a 2000 × 1000 PNG hero graphic.
Output: a 2560 × 1440 YouTube banner with the graphic centered on a solid background, without stretched pixels.
If the file is still large after export, run it through Image Compressor. Need other icon formats? See PNG to ICNS or PNG to ICO.
Common mistakes
- Using a tiny source image. Upscaling makes text soft and edges fuzzy.
- Ignoring aspect ratios. Cropping is unavoidable if the target ratio is different from your source.
- Overcompressing. If you plan to compress later, keep the source clean first.
Verification checklist
- Check key text and logos are not cropped on your target platform preview.
- Validate exported dimensions match the preset you selected.
- Inspect edges at 100% zoom before uploading to a CDN or repo.
When to use something else
- App icons: use PNG to ICNS or PNG to ICO, not banner presets.
- Exact pixel crop control: use Image Resizer for a single dimension change.
